The long-standing history between two well-known Paducah donut shops is coming full circle.
Munal's Donuts, located at 1703 Bridge Street in Paducah, is now owned by Chris and Beth Bomar. Beth is the granddaughter of Howard (Red) Clark who once worked at Munal's 70 years ago before going on to open Red's Donut Shop.
Beth made the announcement on Facebook Monday saying that her and her husband Chris would be keeping a third generation of donut-making alive.
Not only did Beth's grandfather work at Munal's before going on to open Red's Donuts, but her mom and stepfather once owned a donut shop in Murray in the 1990's called Roper's Donuts.
Beth said in her post they are "pumped to bring this little story full circle and announce officially that we are the new owners of Munals Donuts in its original location on Bridge street!"
Beth said they will keep the name and tradition of Munal's Donuts, but also have a few new tricks and recipes up their sleeves. She added customers will be getting a little bit of Munal's, a little bit of Red's and a little bit of Roper's all wrapped in one place.
