The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man and woman Sunday after authorities said the pair barricaded themselves inside their home to avoid his arrest.
Deputies went to a home on Dryden Creek Road to execute arrest warrants on 40-year old Alan M. Pettus of Mortons Gap.
They said a person slammed the front door and would not answer repeated calls to open the door.
After about three hours, 34-year old Andrea M. Breedlove walked out and told investigators there was nobody else in the home.
However, officers said they later saw Pettus smoking meth inside the home. The sheriff's office said they used "less than lethal" tactics to encourage him to surrender.
During a search of the home, officers reportedly found 3/4 of a pound of methamphetamine, scales and baggies.
Pettus was served with bench warrants out of Hopkins County, and was charged with resisting arrest and trafficking in a controlled substance.
He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
Breedlove was arrested by Kentucky State Police and charged with hindering prosecution.
