Motorcycle accident in Graves County sends rider to the hospital

A motorcycle rider was sent to the hospital following a crash Tuesday evening in Graves County.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a two vehicle collusion at 5:44pm on US 45 North at KY 1241. 

Deputies said 39-year-old Zachary Sargent was operating a Suzuki motorcycle, crossing US 45 North from KY 1241 to travel southbound on US 45. Sargent reportedly pulled into the path of 42-year-old Adriene Shupe of Mayfield as she was traveling northbound on US 45 North. Shupe was unable to avoid the collision and collided with Sargent causing serious damage to the motorcycle. 

Sargent was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was transported by Mayfield/Graves County EMS to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
