The Metropolis man who had an armed standoff with police for several hours on Monday faces charges including aggravated battery.
Illinois State Police were called to a home in the 400 block of West 20th Street on Monday, after reports of aggravated battery involving a firearm.
According to police, the suspect, 29-year-old Eric Rushing, barricaded himself inside the home around 2 p.m..
A SWAT team and crisis negotiators responded, and Rushing eventually left the home around 7:15 p.m. He was taken into custody without incident.
Rushing was charged with aggravated battery and possession of a weapon by a felon.
He was taken to the Massac County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
