At Monday's McCracken County Fiscal Court meeting, commissioners tabled an ordinance to approve two million dollars in bonds for roof repair on the Paducah-McCracken County Convention and Expo Center.

Commissioners said they want to combine the roof repairs into one bond with the cost of other renovations needed in the convention center.

The court will discuss the roof again at next month's meeting.

The board did vote to pay Peck, Flannery, Gream and Warren Architects $82,750 for designing the new roof at the convention center.

In other action, commissioners voted to pay invoices for Barkley Regional Airport Authority's new terminal expenses of $203,000. That amount is half of an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with the City of Paducah.

Bruce Wilcox, the Greater Paducah Economic Development President/CEO, provided the fiscal court a quarterly update. He said the organization now is housed the Information Age Park. The fiscal court chose to apply formally for $500,000 through Kentucky's new Product Development Initiative Grant. Wilcox said as much as $6 million may be available to Kentucky local governments and economic development organizations via more grants to supplement site or building improvement projects.

The request to purchase vehicles for the McCracken County Jail was tabled, until the board gets more detailed information as to the specific uses of acquiring the vehicles.

The McCracken County Attorney was authorized to create a position funded by a combination of the county and his office to oversee probationary requirements of misdemeanor convictions.
