The Marshall County Board of Education is putting out a call for a parent to join its superintendent search committee.
The board is putting together a committee that will look for a replacement for Dr. Steve Miracle. One of the requirements of such a committee is that it must include a parent with a student in the district.
A form was sent to parents and posted on social media where one could apply for the position, or nominate someone.
Anyone interested in serving must submit their completed online Google form by Thursday, February 29th. They also must be able to meet on the already-determined dates of March 25th, April 9th, April 16th, and April 22nd. Meetings will take place on each of those days at 5 p.m.
PTO presidents from the district will review and elect the parent representative to the search committee.
Board members declined to renew Miracle's contract earlier in February.
For more information about the duties of a parent committee member and the process to apply, contact Lori Barrett at the Marshall County Schools Central Office by calling (270) 527-8628.
