Marshall County Sheriff's Office K9 Batu recently received a body armor donation.

Batu received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s.

The vest was made possible by the organization through the Amazon Smile purchase program.

Vested Interest in K9s was established in 2009 with the mission of providing bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies across the country.

Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s has provided over 4,481 vests to K9s in all 50 states at a value of $6.9 million.

Those wanting to donate to Vested Interest in K9s can do so by clicking here. A single donation of $960 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has a value of between $1,744 and $2,283.
