Man injured after jumping from bridge onto I-24

An unidentified man was flown to a Nashville hospital after jumping from a bridge onto I-24 in Christian County Monday.

Christian County Sheriff's deputies said they were called to the area of Lafayette Road for a welfare check and as they arrived the man jumped from the bridge onto the interstate.

Law enforcement reported they were able to wave down vehicles and pull the man off the road before he was struck by oncoming traffic.

The full extent of the man's injuries were not known.
