A man was arrested by Paducah Police at a local church with a daycare on charges of violating his parole and the sex offender registry.
The man, 44-year-old Adam Hicks, had been living at a halfway house but walked away on Sunday. The Kentucky Department of Probation and Parole sought a parole violation warrant for Hicks on Monday. They also notified Paducah Police that he was non-compliant with the sex offender registry.
Hicks went to the church on Wednesday looking for money to buy a bus ticket to Bowling Green, and that is when the police were called. He was taken into custody and served the warrants.
Hicks had been released to the halfway house on February 21st after pleading guilty to a violation of the sex offender registry in 2016. According to police, Hicks was convicted of sexual abuse in Warren County. That case from 2003 involved two girls ages 5 and 9.
