A Murray man was arrested Friday after two churches and an apartment building were damaged with a sledge hammer.

Murray police said they were called to a local church about vandalism. The church's surveillance video showed a white male using a sledge hammer to damage a door, four windows, and an intercom.

The same day, officers were called to another church for similar vandalism.

A third call came in Friday about damage at a Murray apartment building. While they were at the apartment, officers said they recognized the man they had seen in the church security footage.

They identified the man as 41-year-old Jeremy Sorrels of Murray.

Sorrels was arrested and charged with criminal mischief. He was taken to the Calloway County Jail.
