Kirksey man arrested after police pursuit of stolen vehicle

A report of a stolen vehicle led to a police pursuit and arrest of a Kirksey man on Saturday.

The Calloway County Sheriff's Office said they received a report of a stolen vehicle from the area of Tom Taylor Trail. 

A deputy found the vehicle on Midway Road and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect failed to stop leading to a pursuit. The chase continued through the southwest part of the county. Once they entered Hazel a  deputy utilized a PIT maneuver and ended the pursuit. 

The driver of the stolen vehicle, 36-year-old Ryan Tweedy of Kirksey, was arrested and charged with the fleeing and evading, criminal mischief, wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property,  speeding 26 over the limit, reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
