Kentucky Transportation Cabinet mowing crews have started working on roadways including state highways.
Crews will work during daylight hours whenever weather permits.
Motorists are urged to slow down and exercise caution when approaching mowing zones. Tractors may occasionally have to cross travel lanes as crews go about their work.
Political signs and other advertisements are not permitted on state highway right-of-way and should be removed. Illegal signs may be removed from the right-of-way without notice to the owner.
Signs that are removed will generally be held for 10 working days at the local KYTC Department of Highway Maintenance Facility, allowing owners a chance to claim them, then discarded.
KYTC District 1 counties include Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Crittenden, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken and Trigg.
