Kimberly Holloway unseated longtime representative Richard Heath in the Republican Primary for the state House.

Holloway defeated Heath by less than 200 votes in a primary that saw almost 13% turnout statewide. Heath has served Graves and part of McCracken County since 2013. He was the chair of the House Agriculture Committee.

Holloway said in an online statement, "We are genuinely humbled. Thank you all so much for your support. I am ready for this challenge and am so thankful to have been given this opportunity. I owe my most sincere gratitude to my fellow Kentuckians for trusting me to be an advocate for our district. Thank you, thank you, thank you."
