The City of Paducah will host a Tree Lighting Ceremony next week, and the community is invited to attend.
The celebration takes place on November 21 at 5:30 p.m. on Water Street in front of the large floodwall opening between Broadway and Jefferson Street.
Paducah commissioners will light up the 26-foot tall Christmas Tree at 6 p.m. to kick off the holiday season.
The event includes performances by Clark Elementary's Stomp teams and Concord Elementary's choir group, the Singsations. Parks and Recreation will also have a craft table, and hot chocolate will be available.
Officials said lights across the downtown area will glow this year, including trees and shrubs on Broadway and at Paducah City Hall, and on Locomotive 1518 near the Carson Center.
