Groundbreaking for a new downtown hotel in Paducah is happening on Tuesday.

Paducah Mayor George Bray said city officials will be joined by representatives of National Hospitality and Marriott International to break ground for the new Aloft by Marriott hotel to be built near the city’s riverfront. The hotel will add more hospitality space near the Paducah-McCracken County Convention & Expo Center. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at 520 North 3rd Street.

Mayor Bray said, “This groundbreaking marks a major milestone in Paducah’s ongoing efforts to enhance its riverfront and expand hospitality options for visitors and convention attendees. This private development represents a significant investment in Paducah’s future. The Aloft by Marriott Paducah will not only complement our vibrant downtown, convention center, and the new Paducah Sports Park but also strengthen our position as a regional destination for business, tourism, and the arts.”

The $21 million project will feature an indoor pool, fitness center, cafe, rooftop terrace, and 121 guest rooms. Construction is expected to begin in December, with an opening date slated for December 2026.
