Graves man sentenced to life in child rape case

A Graves County man has learned his sentence in a child rape case.

In Graves County Circuit Court, 48-year-old Brian W. Readenour was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to the rape of a child under 12 and sodomy, among other charges.

Readenour was the subject of a manhunt in Graves and Hickman County back in 2023 before being captured by police in Union City. He had been hiding out near Murphy’s Pond in Hickman County, even getting caught on a game camera in the area. Tips from the public helped police locate Readenour. After his arrest, he was extradited back to Graves County.

Readenour had previous convictions related to child sexual abuse.
