A crash in Fulton County on Tuesday evening  claimed the life of a Hickman man.
Kentucky State Police were called to the crash just after 7 pm Tuesday. Troopers and accident reconstructionists joined the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, Hickman Police, along with fire and EMS on the scene.
The investigation indicates that a vehicle driven by 81-year-old Richard Gouger of Hickman pulled onto KY 1129 from KY 1240 striking the rear quarter of an SUV driven by 47-year-old Brad Ellingburg, also of Hickman. The report said that Gouger only had a limited sight line, and thought he was clear to enter the intersection.
The collision caused Ellingburg's SUV to run off the road and overturn. Ellingburg was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. The Fulton County Coroner pronounced Ellingburg dead at the scene.
The report also indicates that police believe speed and alcohol were factors in Ellingburg's case. A request for an autopsy was denied, but police are still awaiting the toxicology report.
Gouger was not injured in the crash.
