Authorities said there were too many people in one vehicle that crashed on I-69 in Graves County on Tuesday.
According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash at the 20-mile marker.
Deputies learned 18-year-old Tyrek Sharp of Paducah was driving when he went off the road into the median and struck a guard rail.
Deputies discovered that there were seven people in total in the vehicle, with only five seatbelts. Further, only two people were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Deputies said five of the juveniles were transported by ambulance for treatment due to not having their seatbelts on.
Sharp was cited for multiple traffic offenses.
