At least three Paducah businesses were damaged by a fire Saturday morning in the Friendship Plaza business complex on North Friendship Road.
Firefighters arrived around 8:30 a.m. to fire and heavy smoke coming from the building. Neighbors called the fire department and reported a lightning strike shortly before the fire. It's unconfirmed if lightning was the cause. The state fire marshal is investigating.
There are nine businesses in the complex. Three received significant damage, including Paducah Olive Oil Company, Vibrant Life Chiropractic, and The Barre Paducah, which will be closed until further notice.
Multiple fire crews were involved and the fire was extinguished by 11:30 a.m. No injuries were reported.
New Holt Road was also closed for a time while the fire was fought.
