The National Weather Service in Paducah warns that fire danger will again be elevated this afternoon across the region.
Breezy and dry conditions will combine with moderate drought to raise the fire danger. Winds are forecast to gust over 20 miles per hour, and humidity in the afternoon will be less than 30 percent. The lowest humidity is expected on Saturday.
As Saturday begins the month of October, so also begin statewide burning restrictions in Kentucky.
The fall burning laws say that from October until mid-December, outdoor burning within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland area is only allowed in the evening hours between 6pm and 6 am.
