Daytime closure of Slater Road begins in Ballard County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has begun daytime closures of Slater Road in Ballard County.

The closures are to allow a natural gas line to be relocated to prepare for construction of a bridge to replace the existing Cane Creek Culvert along KY 1290 between Hancock Road and Crews Road.

The utility sub-contractor had planned to work along the shoulder to allow the roadway to remain open. However, traffic at the site and limited shoulder area available for the crew will review the road to close during daylight hours.

To expedite the gas line relocation, the crew will be working from daylight to about dark each day, then reopening the roadway at night.
