Christian County man indicted on federal drug, firearm offenses

A federal grand jury returned an indictment on October 13, charging a Christian County man with several drug and firearm-related offenses.

According to the indictment, 31-year-old Nigel Sanders was charged with intent to distribute and distribution of meth, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

If convicted, he faces no less than ten years and not more than life in prison for both possession with the intent to distribute and distribution of meth. He also faces not more than ten years for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and an additional 5-year consecutive term for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Sanders is scheduled to be arraigned on November 23 before Magistrate Judge H. Brent Brennenstuhl.
