A Benton man is facing drug charges after he was found passed out in a vehicle.

Benton Police were called to the parking lot of a liquor store just after 1 p.m. Saturday after a man was seen passed out behind the wheel. Officers indicated that the man, later identified as 28-year-old Jordan E. Jones, was sweating and slumped over. Indications suggested that Jones was impaired, and he was subsequently arrested.

Officers searched the vehicle and reportedly located methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and what they described as unidentified powders. The powders were to be sent to a lab so they could be identified. Officers also found a handgun near the drugs.

Jones was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Detention Center.
