Benton man arrested in Calvert City with drugs and alcohol in his car

A Benton man was arrested last week after a traffic stop in which officers found drugs and alcohol in his vehicle.

Calvert City Police stopped a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Casey B. Ross of Benton because it had no license plate. A computer check showed that the registration had been canceled. Officers said open alcohol containers were visible, which prompted a search. The search located a pill bottle with a white substance believed to be cocaine, an unknown mushroom, plus three beer bottles and seventeen vodka bottles.

Ross was arrested and charged with possession of an open alcohol container in a vehicle, possession of cocaine, no license, no registration, and other offenses.
