The Kentucky State Police were called to investigate a deadly trooper-involved shooting that happened Friday evening in Carlisle County.

The incident happened at a home on Cherry Road near Bardwell.

Carlisle County E-911 received a call from a man that stated he had allegedly shot his wife.

Troopers and Carlisle County deputies arrived, where officers saw a man at the home.

The man reportedly fired shots and a trooper returned the fire, according to KSP.

The man was critically injured and later died at the hospital. No officers were injured.

Inside the home, officers reportedly found a deceased female. 

KSP Post 1 is investigating the death of the woman. KSP’s Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the trooper-involved shooting.
