Once again, we were honored to award the West Kentucky Star Teacher of the Month. Mrs. Kris Buss is a first grade teacher at Murray Elementary and is our October winner. Here are our "Ten Questions With..."
1. What is your first memory from school?
My first-grade teacher allowing me to sit on her lap during story time.
2. Is there a quote or saying that you live your life by?
I love my babies.
3. What makes a good day at school?
Hugging all the little ones. (Just as several students came up to hug her!)
4. What sort of morning routine do you have to get jazzed for class?
I listen to audiobooks all the way to work. I have a 45-minute drive!
5. How do you remember all of your students’ names?T
There is no answer. Just by the first day you know them. When you love it it’s easy.
6. What school sport or activity do you enjoy watching?
Soccer and our elementary football team.
7. If you could take your students on a field trip anywhere in the world, where would you take them and why?
To Japan so I could show them a new culture. I lived there for three years.
8. What would you students be surprised to find out about you? Or What is one of your hidden talents?
(Mr. Buss quickly answered that she has not one but two rooms for her hidden talents.) Oh yeah, I like to craft and sew. And I like to paint.
9. How do you show your school spirit?
I wear my Tiger pride!
10. If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?
Look for the best in everybody, it’s always there somewhere.
