1. What was your first memory from school? I remember being nervous about counting and getting something wrong.
2. How do you show your school spirit? We have a lot cool stuff going on at our school. When we have something great going on like dress up days and fun dress up days, I love to share it on Facebook!
3. What is one of your hidden talents? I’m getting pretty good at gardening. It’s fun to watch your own stuff grow.
4. What makes a great day at school? When the kids are engaged in the lesson and they are excited to learn, they walk in the room and ask “what are we doing today?”
5. How do you remember all of your students’ names?On the very first day I go through the room and ask them. I make an effort to know everybody on the first day. We have 60 kids in the 4th grade so I make it work.
6. What is a school sport or activity that you enjoy watching? I love watching my kids play football. They invite me to their games. I don’t know much about football but they tell me all about it.
7. If you could take your students on a field trip anywhere in the world, where would you take them and why? The Grand Canyon. Most of my students don’t get out of the state of Kentucky and they need to see something awe-inspiring.
8. How do you think your students will remember you and your class? I try to make everything hands-on; seeing math in the real world!. We do hot chocolate with fractions. We have a geometry scavenger hunt.
9. Is there a quote or saying you live your life by? Live every day to the fullest.
10. If you can pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share? We can do hard things. Even when things are hard, it’s tough, but we can do it!
