Saturday marks the 24th annual Golconda Shrimp Festival with food, music and fun on the Ohio River in Pope County.
Kicking off at 10 a.m., food vendors will line Main Street, serving shrimp boils and fried shrimp baskets along with BBQ, corndogs, and funnel cakes.
There'll be a beer garden, and local and regional acts will perform live music all day.
Vendor’s Village will feature arts, crafts, and shopping booths from more than a dozen vendors. There will also be horse and carriage rides, a kids zone with inflatables, face painting and a petting zoo.
The City Museum will offer an audio walking tour, and a visit to the PTF-26 Museum Ship, which is docked at the Golconda Marina.
The Shrimp Festival was named the #1 Food Festival in Illinois by National Geographic Traveler.
