By West Kentucky Star Staff
CALVERT CITY, KY - Kentucky State Police are investigating a two vehicle collision Thursday that sent one driver to a Tennessee hospital.

Troopers say the crash happened on Highway 62 near the exit ramps of Interstate 24. According to police, 56-year-old Patrick Lowe of Berea, KY, was driving a tractor-trailer east on Hwy. 62, attempting to make a left turn onto the ramp for I-24 eastbound.

A car, driven by 28-year-old Garrett Dossett of Gilbertsville was traveling west on 62, approaching the ramp intersection. Police said Lowe failed to yield the right of way to Dossett while making his left turn.

Dossett was flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of what troopers called life-threatening injuries.

Lowe was not injured in the crash.
