Injuries, Drug Charges Stem from Crash

WEST PADUCAH - A single-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon injured the driver and left her facing drug charges.

A McCracken County Sheriff's Deputy responded to the 9800 block of Blandville Road in West Paducah. Deputies said 24-year-old Destry Carter of Wickliffe's van drifted across the oncoming lane and left the road. It traveled several feet before striking an embankment. 

Carter was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. She was to be transferred to an out-of-state hospital for further treatment. 

Deputies said Carter had several pills, methamphetamine and marijuana. She was cited to court on two counts of possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine and drug unspecified), one count of possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree (drug unspecified), and possession of marijuana.
