By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH, KY - Two people were hurt Wednesday afternoon in a crash near McCracken County High School.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says deputies responded shortly after noon to a two vehicle injury collision on US-60 at the entrance to the McCracken County High School.

Deputies said their investigation showed 79-year-old Raymond Cope of Morganfield was driving east, approaching the traffic light at the McCracken County High School entrance when his vehicle collided with another vehicle driven by 68-year-old Evertt Yates of Kevil that was stopped at the intersection.

Cope and his passenger, 65-year-old Paula Rhea, also of Morganfield were taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

One lane of US-60 was closed for about 50 minutes after the crash.
