By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - One person was injured in a Lone Oak collision Tuesday afternoon.

McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded at 3:06 pm to the intersection of Cumberland Avenue and Oregon Street. They determined that 22-year-old Delissa Maxie of Paducah was eastbound on Cumberland Avenue and attempted to stop at the intersection, but struck a car driven by 36-year-old Tara Martin of Paducah, who was northbound on Oregon Street.

Maxie told deputies she pumped her brakes in an attempt to stop her car before it ran into the intersection, but she may not have given herself enough room to stop. Deputies spotted an unknown liquid on the road that may have contributed to the accident.

Maxie was taken to Baptist Health Paducah for treatment of minor injuries, but Martin refused treatment at the scene.

Traffic was stopped at the intersection for just under an hour while Lone Oak Fire Department and Vanzant's Towing cleared the scene.
