The Paducah Chiefs open the Ohio Valley League baseball season in just over two weeks, and there are changes to the number of teams in the league this season.

The OVL has gone from 12 to five teams, with defending champion Full Count and Dubois County departing for the Prospect League.

Teams in Bowling Green, Clarksville, Louisville, Muhlenberg County and Owensboro will not play this season.

The teams that will take the field May 31st are the Paducah Chiefs, Fulton Railroaders, Henderson Flash, Hoptown Hoppers and Madisonville Miners.

Teams will face each other 10 times, five at home and five away during the season with all five teams playing in the post season.

Chiefs players will report on May 28th and open the season May 31st at Fulton, then host Henderson in the home opener on June 1st at Brooks Stadium.

Season tickets are available at McKeel Equipment in Paducah.

All Chiefs games will be heard again this season on 99.5 The Fan and online at www.995thefanpaducah.com.
