Rick Cochran Wins His 5th West Kentucky Open

LEDBETTER, KY - Paducah's Rick Cochran shot a 5-under 67 Sunday to win the professional division at the West Kentucky Open at Drake Creek Golf Club. Cochran has now won the event a record five times.

Cochran shot a 6-under 66 on Saturday and led by one shot over both Nick Newcomb of Murray and Andrew Mitchell of Benton, IL. Newcomb shot a 70 on Sunday and finished second, four shots back. Joey Mayo of Paducah was third after a final round 68. Mitchell finished fourth after shooting 77 on Sunday.

Gabe Wheeler of Sikeston, MO won the amateur division. Wheeler followed up his 70 on Saturday with a 68 on Sunday to win by three strokes over Brock Burnham of Metropolis, IL. Burnham finished with a 73 on Sunday. Brian Whitson of Dexter, MO was third.
