Many news stories have been shared about a special baseball glove Brian Cope keeps close to his side that belonged to his son, Preston, who was killed in the Jan. 23 shooting at Marshall County High School. One of those stories made its way to Wilson Sporting Goods representative, Rick Redman.

The part about Preston designing his glove when he first made the high school baseball team led Redman to offer each of Preston’s teammates the opportunity to customize their own glove. MCHS Athletic Director, Mike Johnson, worked with Redman and Wilson Sporting Goods through the process.

“This was an amazing gesture by Wilson to honor Preston with these team gloves,” Johnson said. “To see a major sports company take such a vested interest in our community shows how extremely important people are to their company.”

All 27 MCHS baseball players received their Wilson customized gloves on Monday.
