No School at MCHS Thursday, Sweet 16 Tix for Sale
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH, KY - McCracken County High School will not have classes on Thursday, since the boys' basketball team is playing in the Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Sweet 16 Basketball Tournament at Rupp Arena in Lexington. The team plays Oldham County at 6:30 pm

The school district announced Friday that classes were canceled, but only for the high school. Classes will be held at all other schools, but younger students will get an excused absence for Thursday if they provide a ticket stub to the attendance secretary at the school.

If the Mustangs win on Thursday, school will be in session on Friday at the high school, and students would need a parental note or doctor's excuse if they miss classes.

Students who wish to ride a pep bus to Rupp Arena can sign up in the Team Shop before lunch time on Wednesday. The cost is $20, and this non-refundable fee covers their ticket and transportation. Payment must be made when students sign up. The bus will leave at 11 am on Thursday (March 15). Plenty of school staff will be on the buses and at the game.

Game tickets for students and the public went on sale Friday, and will be on sale Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm. Tickets are $11 each if bought in advance. Tickets bought at the game will cost $14.
