The McCracken County Mustangs used the ground game to exploit Muhlenberg County in a 44-0 rout to end the season on a 5-game winning streak.

The Mustangs scored six different rushing touchdowns with six different players getting into the end zone. The only passing touchdown for McCracken County was the very first score of the game as Elijah Wheat found Tymar Halliburton on a run-pass option for a 45 yard touchdown to make it 8-0 McCracken County with 5:52 in the opening quarter.

With just seconds left in the opening quarter, senior tailback Kiael Waldon scampered 8 yards into the end zone to make it 15-0.
Midway through the 2nd quarter, sophomore running back Hunter Bradley took his turn scoring a touchdown, this time from 34 yards out to make it 22-0 McCracken County with 7:56 left in the 2nd quarter. Just 40 seconds later, McCracken County’s Alex Miezio scored from 23 yards out to make it 29-0.

Then with 2:50 left in the 1st half, Zander Hamby cashed a 35-yard run for a touchdown to make it 36-0 to start the running clock.

Then late in the 4th quarter, McCracken County spent an entire drive handing it off to freshman running back Isaiah Keys. An 8-play, 68 yard drive ended with a 1-yard touchdown run by Keys to make it 44-0.

The Mustangs finish the regular season with a 7-3 record going into their bye week next week. McCracken County opens the Class 6A Playoffs in two weeks by hosting Jeffersontown at 7pm at Marquette Stadium.

Paducah Tilghman scored early and often to get the 49-0 win over Fort Campbell in Tornado Alley Friday night.

Senior tailback Makel Askew started the scoring off early with a 5-yard touchdown run to make it 7-0 Tilghman early in the 1st quarter.

On Tilghman’s next possession, Malachi Kirby scampered 53 yards to give Tilghman a 14-0 lead with 4:31 left in the 1st quarter. Then, just over a minute later, senior Colbe Crim received an option pass and took it 27 yards to make it 21-0 Tilghman.

Then just before the end of the quarter, Tilghman’s defense provided some offense as Amarion Patterson picked up a fumble and returned it 41 yards to make it 28-0. Then seconds later, Jayden Freeman returned a punt to the house as time expired in the 1st quarter to make it 36-0 Tilghman.

Paducah Tilghman finishes the regular season next Friday night against Christian County at 7pm at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville.

A Tavis Brown 2-yard run early in the 2nd quarter cut the Owensboro lead to 14-6 early in the 2nd quarter, but the luck would run out there for Graves County as the Red Devils routed the Eagles 47-6 in Owensboro Friday night.

Graves County gave up 26 points in the 2nd quarter to give Owensboro a 40-6 halftime lead.

With the win, Owensboro clinched the number 1 seed in Class 5A District 1 while Graves County grabs the 2-seed.

Graves County finishes their regular season next week with a road trip to Murray to take on Calloway County.
