Mustangs, Lady Mustangs Capture 1st Region Crowns

McCracken County High School earned dual trips to state tournaments on Wednesday, as they captured the Region 1 baseball and softball titles.

The Mustang baseball team needed a late inning offensive burst to hold off Marshall County 8-5, and the softball Mustangs dispatched Ballard Memorial 21-2 in three innings.

In Region 2 baseball action, Caldwell County defeated Union County 6-2.

The boys champions advance to the KHSAA state tournament June 8-10 in Lexington. The girls tourney will be held on the same dates in Owensboro.
