Macey Turley scored 18 points to lead Murray past Graves County 51-42 in the girls 1st Region Championship game Saturday night at the CFSB Center. It's the Lady Tigers third straight regional title.
Turley, the tournament's most valuable player, scored 11 of her points in the fourth quarter, including going 9-for-9 at the free throw line. Alexis Burpo had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Lex Mayes finished with 10 points.
Danielle Waggoner lead Graves County (27-7) with 15 points. Taylor Carrico had 11 and Raychel Mathis finished with 9. The Lady Eagles were held to just 31 percent shooting from the field, including 3-for-16 from the 3-point line.
Murray (32-2) will play Mercer County (31-3) Wednesday at 5:30 pm (Central Time) in the first round of the girls state tournament at BB&T Arena in Highland Heights.
