Ally Mayhaus' layup with :09 left proved to be the game-winning shot as Covington Holy Cross beat Murray 47-46 in the girls’ Touchstone Energy All “A” Classic finals Sunday afternoon in the Frankfort Convention Center.

Murray trailed 39-30 late in the third quarter but rallied to take a 46-43 lead on two Elizabeth Grogan free throws with :23 left. Instead of allowing the Lady Indians a chance to tie the game with a three-pointer, the Lady Tigers decided to foul Deja Turner, who hit both free throws, cutting the lead to one with :12 left.

Murray turned the ball over on the in-bounds play, setting up the game-winning play by Mayhaus. The Lady Tigers had one final chance to win the game, but Alexis Burpo's 15-footer fell short.

Turner led Holy Cross with 14 points. Mayhaus finished with nine points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots. Dajah McClendon had nine points and eight assists.

Maddie Waldrop led Murray with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Grogran had 14 points. Macey Turley added 12 points and four assists.
