Wesley McSparin has been named the new boys soccer coach at Paducah Tilghman High School.

McSparin grew up in Paducah and graduated from Heath High School in 2007. He played soccer four years at Heath. His senior year, the Pirates won the First Region boys soccer tournament and the team advanced to the Elite Eight in the state tournament.

After high school, McSparin attended the University of Kentucky where he earned a B.S. in Biology, graduating magna cum laude. Throughout college he participated in intramural soccer leagues and coached recreational soccer for the YMCA.

In 2013, McSparin was named assistant girls soccer coach at Montgomery Central High School in Clarksville, TN. In his first season at MCHS, he helped lead the team to a first place regular season finish in the district and runner-up in the district tournament.

The following year, McSparin was named Head Soccer Coach at Kenwood High in Clarksville. McSparin coached both the girls' and boys' teams and taught Algebra I. During his tenure at Kenwood, both the girls' and boys' teams more than doubled their winning percentage in their first season.

In 2015, McSparin graduated with departmental honors from Austin Peay State University with a Master of Arts in Teaching.
