The Mustangs jumped out to a 50-14 lead early in the 3rd quarter to start the running clock. The scoring started on the very first play of the game when Jeremiah Hughes scored from 37 yards out on a reverse to make it 7-0.
After exchanging scoring drives, Daviess County had a
14-13 lead with 8:09 left in the 1st quarter when the Mustangs went
on a 37-0 run.
McCracken County senior quarterback completed 7
passes for 184 yards and four touchdowns.
Wheat also rushed four times for 70 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown. Junior running back Hunter Bradley carried the ball 13 times for 130 yards and a rushing touchdown. Jeremiah Hughes chipped in with 8 carries for 88 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Kentucky's leading receiver
statistically, Franklin Hayes, had four catches for 124 yards and
three touchdown receptions.
The Mustangs are off next week, and host Dyer County in two weeks.
What looked to be a promising start Friday night for Paducah Tilghman got ugly quickly as DeSales put a running clock on Paducah Tilghman and won in Tornado Alley, 49-14.
Paducah Tilghman scored on their
opening drive as Cam Marshall found Jonathan George for a 58 yard
touchdown to make it 7-0 Tilghman.
Then DeSales took over. The
Colts went on a dominant 49-0 run, capped off on a 4-yard touchdown
by Darren Hollenkamp after a Tilghman fumble to make it 49-7 DeSales
late in the 3rd quarter.
The Blue Tornado are off next week, and will host Union County in two weeks at McRight Field.
