The McCracken County Mustangs (5-2, 1-0) travel to Owensboro tonight to take on the Daviess County Panthers (4-3, 0-1) in a Class 6A District 1 clash.

The Mustangs are in the midst of an incredible inaugural season. McCracken currently holds a five game winning streak, outscoring opponents 259-67 during the streak. They also made their first ever appearance in the Associated Press poll this week, coming in at No. 9 in Class 6A.

McCracken County opened up district play last week with a dominating 49-6 win over Marshall County. Junior wide receiver Rasheed Jones had a breakout game. Jones had four receptions for 178 yards and two touchdowns, averaging nearly 45 yards per reception.

Daviess County opened up district play last week at No. 8 Henderson County. The Panthers trailed the Colonels 13-12 at the half, but Henderson exploded for 28 points in the third quarter and won handily, 41-12.
