McCracken Girls, Marshall Boys Win Track Regionals

WESTERN KENTUCKY - Marshall County's boys and McCracken County's girls track teams were victorious in Friday's Class 3A Region 1 track meet at McCracken County High School.

Marshall's boys team finished with 156 points. Owensboro and Daviess County tied for second with 82 points.

McCracken's girls team finished with 101.66 points. Owensboro finished second with 99 points.



Girls local highlights included three wins for Sophie Galloway of Graves County. Galloway captured the 100 meter hurdles, the long jump, and triple jump.

McCracken County's Lizzie Levinson won the 300 meter hurdles, and took second in the 100 meter hurdles.

Tori McCracken of Marshall County took the high jump with a final leap of 5'0". 

Peyton Newberry of McCracken County won the discus, and third went to Abigail Oakley of Marshall County.

Audrey Grizzard and Sydney Temple of Marshall County came in second and third in the pole vault. Both jumped 9'6", with fewer misses at the height for Grizzard.

McCracken's Newberry and Sarah Adams finished second and third in the shot put.

Marshall County's 4 x 100 meter relay team finished third, with McCracken County fourth.



For the boys, multiple wins were scored by JaBryant Vincent of Henderson County in the 100 and 200 meter dash; and Hunter Kurz of Daviess County in the 800 and 1600 meter run.

Marshall County's Zach Fiser won the discus with a throw of 143' 9". Fiser also took third in the shot put behind second place teammate Austin Clark.

Taeshawn Allen won the long jump for McCracken County with a final effort of 20' 11".

Caleb Pahl captured the pole vault for the Marshals at 12 feet even.

Aaron Reed from Marshall County captured the triple jump at 41' 11.5".

Marshall County took first and second in the 110 meter hurdles. Jackson Brown was the winner, followed by teammate Justin Wilson. Brown also finished second in the 300 hurdles.

The Marshals won the 4 x 100 meter relay and the 4 x 800 relay, and took third in the 4 x 200.

McCracken County's Donsten Brown came in second in the high jump at 5' 8".

Marshall County's Cade Flatt finished second in the 800.
