The McCracken County Mustangs baseball team advanced to the state semi-finals Saturday evening.

The Mustangs defeated Scott County 4-2 in the KHSAA Whitaker Bank Baseball Tournament in Lexington.

McCracken County knocked Scott County's starting pitcher, out of the game in the third inning as they scored four runs to claim the lead. For the game, five different players had one hit each, combined with a hit batsman and four walks.

Mason Vinyard pitched five innings for McCracken and gave up two runs on five hits, with four strikeouts. Caleb Reinhardt pitched the final two innings, giving up two hits and striking out two.

Cooper Robb had three hits, including a double and a home run for Scott County.

Scott County ends their year with a 33-8-1 record, while McCracken County (34-5) moves on to the state semi-finals on Friday. Game time is 12:30 pm (1:30 pm in Lexington), with play-by-play action broadcast on 99.5 The Fan.
