Western Kentucky will be well represented in tonight's high school football playoff games. Five local teams will hit the field for tonight's regional championships.

In Class 1A, Mayfield hosts Russellville. The Cardinals are virtually unbeatable at War Memorial Stadium. They're currently on a 49-game home winning streak. They haven't lost at home since dropping a 35-7 decision to Caldwell County on Nov. 7, 2008.

The Cardinals have also had lots of recent success against the Panthers. Mayfield has won the last five meetings with Russellville and the average margin of victory has been 22 points. Mayfield won this year's regular season matchup 16-8.

In Class 2A, Murray travels to Caldwell County. This will be the sixth meeting between the two schools in the last three years. Caldwell has had the upper hand in the series, winning four of the last five meetings.

Murray, however, was able to knock Caldwell County out of last year's playoffs. After losing the regular season game 42-13, Murray got revenge in the regional championship, beating Caldwell 27-14. Caldwell was able to escape with a hard-fought 31-24 victory at Murray earlier this season.

In Class 3A, Paducah Tilghman plays at South Warren. The Spartans are undefeated this season and haven't lost since losing to Tilghman in last year's regional championship game, 8-7.

Tilghman has rebounded from a rough start to the season. After losing four of their first five games, the Blue Tornado have won six of their last seven and are currently on a five game winning streak.

In Class 5A, Graves County travels to Bowling Green. The Eagles are making their second consecutive (and second ever) regional championship appearance. The Eagles are also on an eight game winning streak, the second longest winning streak in school history.

The Purples have won back-to-back-to-back 5A championships and have won 55 of their last 56 games. Bowling Green is currently riding a 53-game winning streak versus teams from Kentucky.

The winners of tonight's games will advance to next week's state semifinals.
