Local Teams Battle for Playoff Positions Tonight

Regular season district championships and postseason seeding is on the line for many local high school football teams tonight .

In the Class 6A 1st District, McCracken County (7-1) travels to Henderson County (4-4). Both teams are 2-0 in district action. The winner of tonight's game gets the regular season district title and the No. 1 seed for the upcoming playoffs. McCracken won last year's matchup 42-28.

In the Class 5A 1st District, Graves County (5-3) plays at Hopkinsville (6-2). The winner of tonight's game gets the regular season district title and the No. 1 seed for the upcoming playoffs. The Eagles are in search of their third straight regular season district championship. Graves has won 12 district games in a row and hasn't lost a district game since falling to Christian County in overtime 19-8 in 2011.

In the Class 3A 1st District Paducah Tilghman (4-5, 2-0) can wrap up the regular season district title tonight when they travel to Webster County (1-7, 0-2). Since starting the season 0-3, Tilghman has won four of their last six games.

In the Class 1A 1st District, Mayfield (7-1, 2-0) travels to Russellville (7-1, 2-0) for a winner-take-all game. The Cardinals haven't lost a district game since 2008. Russellville has lost the last four meetings with Mayfield including last year's 17-0 loss in the regional championship.
