Dan Langhi has been named the news girls basketball coach at Marshall County High School.

Langhi replaces Martin Clapp, who resigned his position June 27 after just one season as head coach.

Langhi starred at Marshall County in the mid-90's, and was the Mr. Basketball runner-up in 1996. He played college basketball at Vanderbilt, where he scored more than 1,500 points and was named the SEC co-Player of the Year in 2000.

He was a first-round draft pick in the 2000 NBA Draft, and played in the league for five years. He also played six seasons in Europe.

For the past three seasons, Langhi has served as an assistant girls basketball coach at Marshall County. His daughter, Hallie, will be a freshman on this year's team.
