This year’s Marshall County Hoop Fest will feature, as always, some of the best high school basketball players and teams in the country. But this year, it will also feature many of the elite players that the Kentucky Wildcats are pursuing.

Andrew Wiggins is considered the top prospect in the class of 2014 and he’ll be at the Hoop Fest along with his teammates from Huntington, WV. Wiggins has UK at the top of his list of potential schools. One of his teammates, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, also has a scholarship offer from Kentucky, along with numerous other top programs.

Also scheduled to attend is a team from Richmond, TX (Travis High School), featuring twin brothers Aaron and Andrew Harrison. Both are rated in the top 10 of most recruiting rankings and both list UK on their list of four schools that they will choose from when they make their decision later this year. Their team is also expected to play two games at this year’s Hoop Fest.

Two schools from Tennessee will also bring talented squads to Draffenville in December. Memphis Briarcrest Christian has Austin Nichols, who has offers from Duke, Tennessee, Auburn, Butler, Cincinnati, Clemson, Kansas, Louisville, Memphis, North Carolina, Ohio State, Texas and Vanderbilt. Memphis Southwind has Jonathan Williams, another big-time prospect and Jajuan Johnson, who is being pursued by Miami, Alabama and Texas. He’s also received interest from Louisville.

Bullitt East, KY, featuring UK commit Derek Willis, will also be at the tourney, as will Oak Hill Academy, annually one of the nation’s top prep teams. The tournament will also feature some of the best teams in western Kentucky, including Graves County, Calloway County and the host school Marshall County.
