Coach Croft is a 2005 graduate of Crittenden County High School and a 2010 graduate of Murray State University. After college, he spent three years at Christian County High School and Hopkinsville High School as an assistant coach where he helped lead all three teams to the regional finals, winning it twice. In the 2012-13 season, he helped lead the Tigers to a state semi-final appearance.
After today's announcement, Coach Croft met with the team. Croft says he is "excited for the opportunity at hand and looks forward to becoming a part of the Mayfield family." He officially joins the staff July 1.
The announcement of Croft as head coach of the Cardinals comes as current coach Chris Guhy retires after 17 years leading the Cardinals, including an appearance in this year's Sweet 16 as Region 1 champs.
